Celebrating our Waterways Heritage and The Canal Museum’s 50th Birthday
A fun packed programme with boats, food, drink, live music and entertainment is sure to keep all family entertained at Stoke Bruerne’s Annual Gala event on 15-16TH June.
The Canal Museum, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, will be host to a large number of canal craft demonstrators including Roses and Castles painting, rag rug making, quilting, crochet lace and crochet, pottery, wood turning, rope splicing, decorative ropework and blacksmithing. Working or historic boats will be there in abundance with trade boats and stalls, theatre, dance, children’s activities, guided heritage walks and of course, a chance to take a boat trip on “Indian Chief” or “Charlie” into the famous 1 ¾ mile long Blisworth Tunnel.

Messy Church has taken off in style, lots of children from 0 to 99 are enjoying hands on activity and play. This takes place on the first Saturday of each month at Shutlanger village hall between 2.30 and 4.00 pm Children and adults of all ages are welcome to come along for a cuppa, fun and fellowship.
Shutlanger and Stoke Bruerne flower club takes place in Roade Village Hall situated on Baileys brook road. It is every second Wednesday of each month at 7.30 pm . There will be Refreshments, Raffle and biscuit’s.
Non members are very welcome to come along and pay on the door £5 per head, this includes refreshments & biscuit's
Stoke Bruerne Village Hall holds a FREE weekly Reading Club, every Tuesday 2 pm - 4 pm. Books can be borrowed for free. There are refreshments, magazines and books available to buy. ALL Monies raised contribute towards the upkeep of the village hall.
Stoke Bruerne, St Mary the Virgin, invites everyone to a full service with communion at 9.30 am on the second Sunday of each month, All are welcome to attend and then enjoy a coffee and chat afterwards. Church
Shutlanger Chapel, St Anne’s holds a full service at 6 pm on the first Sunday of each month, All are welcome to attend this service in this beautiful building, refreshments are served after the service

ALL are welcome to come along and grab a bargain or try your luck with our Mega Raffle, Pink n Black Bottle tombola, there is also on offer our fabulous Fresh Home Bake, Giant Bric a Brac section, Plants, Books, CD’s and DVD’s along with various other stalls. All monies raised contribute to the maintenance, repair and improvement of our beautiful St Mary the Virgin Church.

South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) commenced consultation, Monday 11 March, on the proposals of how to best use the funds gained from new homes bonus money.
SNC are to establish funds to help local communities, voluntary groups, promote affordable housing and general economic development in the district, which will see millions paid out in the coming years.
